Her Biography

Larysa Sukova, born in Ternopil (Ukraine) in 1972, from early childhood managed to overcome her shyness through art in different forms such as singing, dance, sport and drawing… The latter she would never leave again.

She lives and paints in the town of Castel Volturno (CE),

Graduated in artistic ceramics in the city of Kosiv (Ukraine), she continued creating artistic ceramics and teaching. Arriving in Italy in 1999, almost immediately she began painting oil on canvas, and also works in watercolour and acrylic.

Following classical painting, over time she identified her inclination and preference for Surrealism, in which she can express herself best. She especially loves the face, still life and landscape. From her first approaches to the art world, she discovered she enjoyed a certain approval from painting competition juries, art curators and the public.
Her works are held in private collections, as well as religious and public institutions.

About Her Art

Critical note for artistic merit on the artist Sukova Larysa
The works are very harmonious… well balanced, rich in symbolism and content. The surreal language takes hold of a meticulous description of reality, in the absence of temporality. The description is rich and detailed. The revealed reality is not the tangible one, but something deeper: a dreamlike vision, an inner need to address themes through new forms. The fantastic elements express a profound modernity. These works arouse strong emotions and questions.

Curriculum

Art master’s diploma in artistic ceramics, self-taught in oil painting. Prefers figurative work, with touches of surrealism; ranges from portrait, still life and landscape, and loves storytelling in painting. Has held various exhibitions, live painting events and competitions.
